Specialities – it’s time To update your Skills – Read On
Time to take your skills to the next level; the following planned courses will help you achieve that:
Wreck Speciality

Your education starts at home whilst your study the Padi Wreck diver manual, we then continue with classroom study on the 24th of May where we review your knowledge reviews and you have the opportunity to learn about the history of the wreck you will dive the following day, the HMAS Brisbane.
With four dives to make on the Brisbane these will be completed over two days, the first day on the 25th of May and the second on the 29th of June. The dives will include wreck orientation, mapping, line laying and penetration. You will need to be an advanced diver or higher with you own reel with line. Primary and a back up light are also required. The cost is $445. Booking in advanced is essential as places are limited.
Nitrox Speciality

The benefits of diving with Nitrox are considerable. Not only does your bottom time increase but physically the higher concentration of O2 is advantageous when off gassing. However there are additional safety requirements associated with diving Nitrox. Therefore come and join us on a Nitrox speciality. The course is open to all certification levels and consists of home study followed by classroom theory. The diving consists of two boat dives which will take place out at Cook Island, so you can combine your Nitrox skills whilst looking for the Grey Nurse sharks! The course cost is $345 and scheduled for Thursday 12th June (evening class) and boat diving on Saturday the 14 June. Places are limited so please book early.
Equipment Speciality
Reviews the theory, principles and operation of dive equipment. Routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures, and equipment storage, common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures (may include a demonstration of repair procedures). Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new gear No dives are required, so you can take the Equipment Specialist course any time of the year. The PADI Equipment Specialist Course is not an equipment repair course, but it provides the foundation you’ll want if you’re interested in learning equipment repair.
Certification counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating as do all the other specialities. The course date is provisional at this stage with possible dates the evenings of the 28th & 29th of May. The course cost is $79.
Advanced Diver

Still an open water diver, well now is the time to take the next step. We offer the advanced course for only $105 including all equipment when combined with our Bigcat live aboard at $385. Although only five dives are required for the advanced certification, up to eight dives are obtainable over the weekend. The price includes food, accommodation and equipment!
The advanced dives consist of two core dives, Deep and Navigation with a choice of three others including but not limited to wreck, night, drift, underwater naturalist and boat. These dives are completed under the supervision of an instructor around Brisbane’s hidden secret, Flinders Reef. With the Humpbacks due back at anytime come and listen to the singing whilst improving your diving skills. The next course is scheduled for the 10th & 11th of May, booking is essential as places are limited.
Rescue Diver

Ever wondered what you would do if a problem arose whilst on a dive? Most of us have. Well now you can stop wondering and learn the skills necessary to help you deal with such situations. The benefits a rescue course brings to your skills level is huge. Get to recognise stress and problems before they become an issue. Learn to lift and rescue both panicked and unconscious divers. Learn to manage a rescue situation. These and many other skills learnt throughout the course will take your skills to a higher level.
Prior to starting the course you must be an advanced diver and hold a certificate in first aid, both of which we can assist you with. The course cost is $345. At this stage we would expect you to own your own equipment, if not we are able to hire the equipment for the course for $80. The course is scheduled for the weekend beginning the 10th of May and finishing on the 17th & 18h of May. This is probably one of the most challenging but certainly most rewarding Scuba courses you will participate in.
