Robbie Lewis
General Manager
PADI Dive Master / EFR Instructor / Level 1 Ocean Coach

Rob learnt to dive before most other members of Team Deep had even started high school. A keen videographer, he spends his in-water time between spearfishing and scubadiving. Just as comfortable at depths without scuba gear, he competed in the Australian Freediving Championships where he placed as a runner up. After travelling the world to exotic locations such as China, Solomon Islands, Indonesia, Fiji and New Zealand, he has now settled in Brisbane to start a family and take the lead for Team Deep.

Paul Hogger
Operations Manager
PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer

Paul started diving in his home town of Terrigal, NSW in 1987 and soon discovered the joys of Wreck Diving and Underwater Photography on the many wrecks that lie off the coast between Sydney and Newcastle. A lover of all things water, Paul has a keen interest in most water sports.

After 12 years in the Graphic Design Industry, Paul and his wife sailed away in 2000 on a 3.5 year cruise onboard their yacht, diving many pristine spots. In 2004 they finally stopped in Cairns where Paul worked as the Trip Director on Australia’s premier dive liveaboard “Spirit of Freedom” for 3 years.

Paul has been a dive professional for 19 years and is currently a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer. His favourite Dive courses are Nitrox, Wreck and Underwater Photography. Paul comes to Deep Scuba as the Operations Manager and to combine his two professions of Diving and Graphic Design.

Angela Vink
PADI Dive Master

After completing her IT degree, Ang decided to travel the world, diving at locations such as Fiji, Zanzibar, Mexico, Belise, Egypt and Malawi. Since, she has returned to Deep to head up the IT department, while diving in her spare time. As Rob's better half, Ang is also a keen spearo and general lover of the underwater world.

Clive Lewis
MSDT (Master Scuba Diver Trainer), Workplace First Aid Instructor,
Workplace Administer Emergency Oxygen Instructor,
Cert IV Workplace Trainer and Assessor

He started diving as a teenager, way back in 1982. Initially certifying with the BSAC, up to Advanced Diver leader level. His diving has taken him to some of the most beautiful and exotic places you can imagine. Diving destinations such as;  Red Sea Egypt, Sri Lanka, The Maldives, Dominican Republic, East Africa, Guatemala, Belize, Koh Samui – Thailand, Britain (oh, hang on that’s not exotic :) ), to name but a few and, of course, here in Australia.

Why he chose PADI. PADI are the largest, most internationally recognised agency, this gave him the most freedom when looking at dive destinations, knowing that PADI certification would be recognised worldwide. He chose to become a PADI instructor because he would wish the same flexibility and freedom for the students he teaches, when they are planning exotic holidays.

He doesn’t honestly have one “favourite” type of diving, but tend to get the most excited over Wreck dives and dive that allow him to photograph sea life, but all dives are good. He especially likes finding and exploring new dive sites. Although it has jokingly been said, by friends and colleague, that he’d go for a dive in a muddy puddle!

Justen Bersin
PADI Dive Master

Justen has never really grown up! However his earlier years were spent living in South Africa visiting big white pointed things with teeth in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He moved to Australia 4 years ago and is studying Law at QUT. Justen has dived in various places in South Africa, Vanuatu, the Florida Keys and Australia. When not before the Courts, Justen tries to spend all of his free time accumulating “Bubble Time!”

Ahmet Kapurtu

Ahmet learnt to dive when he was 5, he got his first certificate which is JR Open Water when he was 13, grown up in the water :) . He is also an experienced Freediver and Spearfisher. He mostly dived in the Mediterranean, Aegean and Black seas around Europe.  

After 5 years Visual Arts And Design and 1.5 years Digital Design Master Degrees, Ahmet comes to Deep Scuba as the Graphic Designer and combined his all professions of  Scuba diving, Photography, Videography Spearfishing, Freediving, and Design.
